ROBOCOSM© Fantasy illustrations by Eytan Wronker
June 14th, 2010: This year, with the help of a talented, professional writer, I'm taking Robocosm in a new direction. The story will be simplified and reconstructed, and may not use all the exact same illustrations I have posted on the website right now. I've stripped down much of the descriptive text. Some of it may still apply to the reconstructed story and some may not, but I'm leaving everything up for now, albeit in a condensed state. Eventually the whole website will be restructured and redesigned, but this is it for now. More news to come when we make more significant progress, but thanks to my new partner I believe things are looking up for Robocosm! :-) Dec. 28th, 2009: There goes another year and my goals have remained elusive but maybe next year will be the charm. I have to figure out how to get that Prints-on-Demand feature set up on my website. Also I have an idea for a new way to present Robocosm, but it's not going to be easy... it's going to take some time... I definitely have my work cut out for me. I'll come out of hiding when I actually have something significant to announce. Meanwhile Happy New Year and best wishes to all for the coming decade!
August 10th, 2009: Robocosm Classroom (image #17 in the gallery on my website) is currently posted on the Drawing Dreams Foundation website, http://www.drawingdreams.org/index.html. Drawing Dreams Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides art supplies to children's hospitals and other organizations.
Other distinguished professionals who have contributed their work to support this worthy cause include Roger Dean, Rodney Matthews, Mark Mothersbaugh, Shaun Tan, and William (Bill) Wray. The images posted to the Drawing Dreams site sometimes move from one page to another (presumably when more images are added) so I can't post a direct link to my illustration... it jumps around. There are two Galleries on the site, one showcasing professional artists and the other displaying artwork by children. Robocosm Classroom is in the professional artists gallery. I think they are goint to print it as a greeting card so if that happens I'll post an update about it here.
August 2009: Oh boy... it's been over a year since I updated this "blog" and I've been thinking about what to say. I've added a lot to the story and I've revised my website to reflect all of that. I have added a new revised Story Synopsis page and I've updated my gallery, adding some new illustrations and putting it all in chronological order of the story. It's been almost 12 years since I began working on Robocosm and there have been lots of ups and downs, but right now I can't go into detail about that here. When I have a better idea of the future direction my marketing efforts, I'll update this page again... hopefully with some good news. Right now all I can say is I'm trying... I'm trying! At the very least I do plan to eventually offer some quality prints for sale through this website. I've had a few requests over the years, and I'm not set up to fulfill them right now. I am waiting for my website hosting service to finish setting up a print option. Then, if I can get all the technical stuff figured out, I'll add a shopping cart to this site. Thanks to all those who have voiced their support for my work, and stay tuned!
August, 2008: My attempt to market RoboCosm has entered a new phase. I am working with a highly reputable agent, and I feel there is reason to be optimistic. It can be tricky getting the timing right. The people you pitch your work to have to be looking for what you have to offer at just the time that you are offering it. Wish me luck.
Depending on how you count them, I've done about a hundred RoboCosm illustrations. I've dropped a few of the (non-Robocosm) images in the gallery of my website and added some RoboCosm illustrations in their place. For those who may have been frustrated by the small size of the online images, there is now a magnifier feature you can click on that allows you to take a closer look at some of the details in the illustrations. Try it... it's fun!
In previous news about RoboCosm:
The August 2004 RoboCosm Art Exhibit at the Irvington Public Library drew some very positive response from the public. I'm very grateful to everyone who helped me and everyone who came to see the show: friends, family, library staff and people I hadn't had the pleasure of meeting before my show. Thank you all so much!

A few more pictures from my opening reception (in a larger format) may be seen at http://www.newtunings.com/eytan/exhibit. The large size of the exhibit room gave me the opportunity to showcase other artwork I have done outside of my RoboCosm project including even some drawings I did way back when I was a child in the 1960's. It took a few hours and around 400 pushpins to put it all up, but all the positive feedback I got made it worth the effort.
Hardcore Wronker fans may also want to check out the August 13th 2004 issue of the weekly local newspaper "Rivertown's Enterprise." It features an article by Iris Hiskey Arno which describes some of the work in my exhibit and also gives some background information. This is of course no longer available at newstands but may be found at local libraries. I've also included reduced images of the article on my website, readable with the help of a magnifying glass! |
