Artist StatementROBOCOSM©: AN ILLUSTRATED FANTASY FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS OF ALL AGES
![]() This website is not about trying to sell the original artwork displayed here. It is mainly about introducing people to RoboCosm. RoboCosm is an illustrated children’s fantasy book which I hope to eventually get published. For the latest news about that please see my News page. The idea for RoboCosm has been brewing in my head since my childhood. I imagined what it would be like living in my head literally instead of just figuratively. When you're bored in school, for example, what if you could go into a little room inside your head and read comic books? But I had to resolve the paradox this presented: How can you be in your body and in your head at the same time? I decided to make the body a robot duplicate of the self. This resolves the paradox and allows me to furnish the inside of the head (and body) with bedrooms, bathrooms and elevators instead of the messy organic innards of a human body. However, since a robot would have to be hundreds of feet tall to accommodate a human pilot, I chose instead to scale down the self to fit in the robot.
I also decided that a boy presented with the opportunity to enter his robot double might like to bring along his favorite toys, so it evolved into sort of a "Toy Story meets Fantastic Voyage" situation... although not exactly! I have plenty more to say about all this and plenty more pictures to go with it, but I cannot squeeze everything into this website. Go ahead and just enjoy the pictures!
